Shopaholic’s Recipe: Homemade Lip Balm💋

Hello Loves!

💋Today’s post is going to be a DIY first for me 🎉! I’m going to share with you guys how to make your own all natural, organic lip balm 💕. Lip balms are an essential part of my everyday getting ready routine, in fact I carry one around in my bag all the time because my lips are constantly dry. Over the years I have tried commercial lip balms, the old standby Vaseline but I have had to keep reapplying them throughout the day and let’s face it, most lip balms out there are far from all natural 🍃. If you think about it we actually ingest anything we apply on our lips throughout the day 😳. So I finally decided  I was going to make my own lip balm using all natural, good for the body ingredients. This lip balm has no preservatives or harmful chemicals or additives. Best of all you need only four to five ingredients !✨So let’s get started!

💋You are going to need :

1 tbsp unrefined , raw Shea butter ( you can get yours from Amazon or try your local organic food store.)

1 tbsp organic, virgin coconut oil.

1.5 tsps of organic beeswax pellets. (If you cannot find beeswax pellets you can grate a beeswax candle as well.)

1.5 tsps organic honey. ( You can skip this step if you want, I personally like the sweet smell of honey 🍯 in my lip balm and honey also adds moisture to your skin).

Seeds of one vanilla pod (Again this is optional, the vanilla seeds add a lovely speckled effect to the balm and a faint vanilla scent💕).

💋Start by putting the Shea butter, coconut oil and beeswax in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 2 mins. (The time depends on your microwaves wattage but it shouldn’t take you longer than 3 mins).

💋Once everything is melted add in the honey and the vanilla seeds you can also add any essential oils of your choice at this point and mix well.

💋Pour into your chosen container (I used tiny glass jam jars but you can get metal or plastic containers from your local craft store.)

💋The lip balms will harden in around an hour at room temperature or you can stick them in the fridge to speed things up, only after they cool to room temperature. This recipie will yield 56 grams for me that’s 28 grams per container. That’s a huge amount! Most lipbalms are around 5-10 grams 😳.

💋This balm is perfect, it makes your lips soft and keeps them soft for hours. You can use it not only on your lips, it works great as hand and body cream as well.💕

💋Let me know if you guys try this recipie I would love to hear from you 😘

Until next time xoxo💋
