Hola Amigos🥺 Hope all of you are safe & sound in your homes 🏡The last few weeks have been incredibly difficult and life changing for all of us around the world🌏And unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a foreseeable end to this pandemic. It took me all of two weeks to try and get used to this new and restrictive routine and finally after a miniature meltdown I resigned myself to the fact that this is the way things are going to be for a couple of weeks if not months going forward. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone may we all come out of this stronger, more resilient and as better human beings❣️#withme #coronavid19 #quarantinelife #quarantinediaries #karachibeautybloggers #pakistanibeautyblogger #dubaibeautyblogger #dubaidiaries #dubailife #cleanbeautyblogger
Today on super short product reviews we will be moving away from skincare & beauty products and shining the spotlight on hair care.
Now usually I review one brand at a time but today I wanted to do an episode devoted entirely to my hair routine.
A little bit of info about my hair: I have thick, long, color treated hair that because of the coloring and the harsh water & humidity here has become very dry and prone to split ends and occasional frizz.
I have tried countless natural shampoos, shampoo bars and conditioners and have found some to be totally awesome while others to be totally awful. You can check my Instagram for the winning and the failing brands.
Ok so the brand(s) in focus today are: Innersense & Jordan Seban.
I chose the color awakening shampoo, conditioner and the sweet spirit leave in conditioner.
From Jordan Seban I chose the the LeBaume leave in conditioner.
Both brands use all natural, organic ingredients and are free from all the usual chemicals: sls, pthalates, silicones.
The Innersense shampoo and conditioner are priced at $28 & $30, the leave in conditioner is $26 all are 10oz.
The Jordan Seban leave in conditioner is $38 for 4oz.
Ok not that we have the specs out of the way let me start with my experience with each of them. The color awakening bath is used like a regular shampoo, not ginormous suds like sulphate shampoos bit good enough that I felt like my hair and scalp were clean. The conditioner is used like conventional conditioners you apply leave for 2 mins and rinse clean.
I did feel that my hair was not totally tangle free with just the conditioner and I had to use the sweet spirit leave in conditioner for me to able to comb my hair after. ( I just used a few pumps and rubbed it through the length of my hair)
Once it was dry though my hair did feel softer, with almost no frizz.
So overall I do like this trio. However I found the conditioner a bit of a let down. Usually when I use a conditioner bar i can detangle my hair pretty easily without the need for a third product which wasn’t the case here.
Also if you occasionally use hair oil, then this shampoo will not be able to wash out the oil, based on the lather it produces.
Ok moving on to the Jordan Seban leave in. I primarily bought that to prep and protect my hair before I use use heat styling and also to further prevent frizz. It’s going to be summer soon and we have 90% humidity in the summer so frizz and fly always are a major problem.
The balm is like a thick gel, and you need only a dime sized amount, I usually use it when my hair is pretty damp right after a shower and then I let it either air dry or use a hair dryer.
When I used the Jordan Seban in conjunction with the inner sense trio I found my hair was, softer, tangle and frizz free and almost straight and this was when it was air dried.
So overall I’m pretty happy with these 4 products and I will definitely be repurchasing the leave in conditioners by both brands. The shampoo and conditioner by Innersense, I’m not sure about just because I regularly oil my hair and I don’t want to purchase a separate shampoo just for those days.
Have you guys tried these brands? What was your experience like?
🍃Let’s talk about the eye area today. I have been through countless eye creams serums and oils from super expensive to drugstore affordable brands all claiming to lift, tighten, brighten and hydrate the delicate eye area and almost all being totally disappointing.
🍃Therefore it’s no wonder I’m extremely skeptical when I see yet another product claiming to be the miracle cure for all the problems in the eye area. So when I read the rave reviews about the @Earthwisebeauty Passion eye serum I was part skeptical part hopeful. Before I start reviewing the product though let me list for you my own problems with my eyes and the solutions I expect a product to provide:
I have dark circles
And my eye area is super dry plus I hate it when eye products migrate into the eye and as I result I get itchy, irritated 😭eyes and blurry vision.
🍃Ok now let’s start with the product:
The passion eye serum comes in a 15 ml bottle and retails for $85💸 which i know is a bit of a sticker shock but it lasts forever because you really only need a drop for both eyes. I’ve been using mine for the last 3 months and I still have more than half still left.
Let’s move on to the ingredients: there are a lot of ingredients so I’m only going to list the most significant ones here:
🍃Seabuckthorn (for firmness), green coffee oil ( to treat dark circles & puffiness), Amaranth ( high in Squalene for lines & wrinkles).
Ok now lets move on to the texture: it’s a deep, gold colored oil, which instantly hydrates, is non sticky, non irritating and won’t migrate into your eyes. Its very fast absorbing provided you only use a small amount: 1 drop 💧is more than enough for both eyes.
In terms of results: I found it to be very moisturizing for my dry under eye area, in terms of dark circles: honestly I didn’t find a visible difference there. For my fine lines I feel like there has been a slight improvement the skin under the eyes does appear less crepey.
Overall I’m happy with the product. Will I repurchase depends on if I can find something that can do all of the above and lighten my dark circles because that’s the one concern I found this product couldn’t alleviate.
And that’s a wrap on this review guys! As always don’t forget to like and follow and share with me if have tried you the passion eye serum. What was your experience like?
Today in super short product reviews let’s talk about clean, all natural eyeliner👁
An absolute must have in every beauty’s makeup Arsenal.
Now if you are a complete shaky klutz like me when it comes drawing a perfect line and you are looking for a clean alternative to the drugstore eyeliner and you all you have in your wallet is a $10 bill 💰Then this episode is for you! Because today I am reviewing a brand that is not only clean and green🍃but that is super light on the wallet and super easy to use so no more panda eyes🐼
And the product I’ve been building up all this suspense about is drumroll please 🥁The Burt’s Bees🐝 Pencil eyeliner.
Ok confession time🤫I cannot use liquid eyeliner 😱I have tried so many times with so many different brands and I just cannot get a non wobbly line or get both my eyes to match 😭so forget a wing or a cats eye🥺
Which is why I finally admitted defeat and started playing around with pencil eyeliners and lo and behold I found that I can draw a semi decent line on both eyes in under an hour 😬
Ok so back to the product the eyeliner costs $9.99! I told you it was under $10.
Like all Burt’s Bees🐝products it’s free from parabens, phthalates, SLS, petrolatum or synthetic fragrances; not tested on animals🐰.
It comes in 3 shades : brown, black and grey. Being the classic girl that I am I chose the black.
It comes in two versions: the pencil which is what I have and the retractable one. I prefer the pencil because I can sharpen it whenever I want a super sharp line.
Ok on to the wearability and ease of application: it’s super easy to apply (if I can do it anyone can😒) it’s lasts all day ( I have super oily lids and even on me it stays fairly well with a tad bit smudging but you can avoid that by prepping your lids with concealer and powder I’m just too lazy to go through all that🙃)
And that’s it folks! I have you enjoyed this review let me know in the comments if you did and don’t forget to like and follow and as always see you next time 😘
Let’s talk supplements. Most of us are guilty of not eating a text book perfect diet and in order to fill in the nutritional gaps we have all resorted at one time or another to supplements. I myself have at one time taken 3-4 different vitamin supplements to make up for my poor eating habits.
However the quality of supplements makes huge difference and like most of us I have in the past always reached for the two for one bottle at Walmart or Target.
However ever since I made the switch to a cleaner, more organic lifestyle I decided to do the same with the supplements I was taking.
Cheap vitamin and mineral supplements contain synthetic lab created ingredients. As opposed to organic supplements that are derived from plants 🍃fruits 🍊and vegetables🥑 and are better absorbed by your body.
The Garden of Life vitamins and supplements are USDA organic & Non GMO certified and made from real, whole foods.
Plus they contain probiotics and enzymes making them easy to digest which means no upset stomach or feeling queasy after 🤢
And they are available in pill, gummies and spray format. So if you can’t swallow pills you can always can your vitamins in other ways.
So get going and clean up that medicine cabinet. Garden of life supplements are available online, at iherb, amazon and target stores.
Today on super short product reviews I will be reviewing two of my favorite skincare products from a brand my entire family now uses 🥳@goodmedicinebeauty.
I came across this brand during the course of my everyday Instagram browsing 😳and I have been a repeat customer ever since.
So let’s get started with the first product:
The Breeze revival mist💦is an amazing toner/mist that contains wild desert honey🍯fresh distilled limes 🍋and apple cider vinegar🍎amongst its many natural ingredients.
I use it to prep my skin before my serums, oils. It cools & calms the skin, protects from acne causing bacteria and also helps soothe any redness or inflammation.
I also use it as a makeup remover after I wash my face by spritzing it on a cotton pad and using it to remove any leftover makeup residue.
On to my second favorite❣️The Electric Sky Universal Elixir⚡️ like I said before this product is used by my entire family: 👩👩👧👧my mom and my sisters use this and between the four of us we have drastically different skin types. My mom has super dry skin, me and my sister have combination/oily and my middle sister had normal skin and it works for all of us ✨
So let’s get started first with applying it and I’ll talk about the ingredients along the way.
I use 2-3 drops max. That’s enough to cover my face and neck. Anymore and I find my face gets way to oily. The star ✨ingredients of this product are hemp seed oil, activated oxygen O3 & prickly pear seed oil.
My family and I have found that this product truly lives up to all of its claims:
It helps with dryness
Treats and prevents acne breakouts
Makes your skin glow
There is just one con with this product: the fragrance or odor in this case.
When you initially use it you will notice that it has a very very strong, herbaceous odor which I honestly got used to over time but I just wanted to mention it because it’s very strong🙃
Ok price 🤑the toner retails for $34 for 4oz & the Elixir is $68 for 1oz but Good Medicine has amazing sales I’m talking about 40% off on and off through the year. So make sure you subscribe to their website so you can score amazing deals.
That’s it it for this episode make sure you like and follow and see you next time 😘
Today on super short product reviews i will be talking my two absolute favorite💋 lip colors from my go to makeup brand 100% pure🍃
I have always been a huge fan of bold lip colors and red and bright pink are two of my all time favorite plus they are universally flattering colors so they work with every complexion.
So without further ado let’s get started:
The two colors I bought are the cherry cordial ( a brilliant deep pink) and the red velvet.
Before i rave about the colors let’s go over the formulation: Like all 100% pure🍃products these too are fruit pigmented and all natural. Plus they contain pomegranate oil and coco butter meaning your lips will never be dry or flaky.
These are lip caramels which can best be described as a cross between a lipstick and a lip gloss. Which means you get deep, richly pigmented color with super, glossy shine✨
Plus they are super easy to apply with the help of the wand applicator. I personally find it very difficult to get a clean, line with regular lipsticks esp when they become rounded after a couple of uses.
They are priced at $26 for 5 ml which might seem a bit pricey but they have good sales on and off so you can score some awesome deals.
Ok moving on the colors the red velvet is a gorgeous deep brown red perfect for when you want to get all glammed up.
The cherry cordial is a beautiful, berry pink it’s listed on the website as a berry red but on me it shows up as a deep pink.
The colors do bleed a bit so I would advise using a lip liner and it’s not transfer proof so be careful when you are smooching someone😘.
And that’s a wrap thank you for watching if you like this review don’t forget to like and follow and as always see you next time.
