☕️Any trip to Dubai Mall for me is so not complete without a refuel at @papparotiuae 😋☕️ ok so I’ll admit it as much as I love my lattes, (that is from my years in California before that the only coffee I knew was the Bahadurabad wali Nescafé Espresso which was actually frothy milk with instant coffee and a drizzle of cream on top in a stryrofoam cup that I would always invariably bite through it was so flimsy 😳).
☕️I am at heart a huge chai fan ✨and I don’t mean the overly sweet westernized chai latte or chai tea mainstream coffee chains try to pass off as a weak replacement of the real thing, by which I mean quintessential Desi Doodh Patti –chai☕️
Ok for people that don’t know chai means tea, so when you call it chai tea that literally means tea tea 🙄. It’s just chai people just ask for chai any Desi will get what you are saying, on the other hand if you ask them for chai tea they will just look at you like you like what the F***🤨.
☕️My love💞and insatiable craving for chai is something that I have inherited from my mother👩🏻 who needs her two mugs of steaming, burn your tongue off, rich, creamy doodh patti chai (my mom is a chai connoisseur guys) And while I may not be as picky when it comes to my cuppa I have to admit a poorly made cup of tea does piss me off 😡.
☕️Which is why I was thrilled to bits when I chanced upon the papparoti franchise 🤩. Not only do they have mouth watering buns (read calorific disaster which will require atleast 2 hours in the gym not the measly 30 min jog that I kid myself into believing will burn off the 1000 calorie damage I do when I eat out 😖). They actually have proper Desi chai ☕️🤩I mean the real deal with elaichi and saffron versions 😍 in a proper mug ❣️not a 2 sip and it’s empty measly tea cup I mean which legit Desi, brown person drinks chai in a dainty tea cup??
☕️And no I’m not referring to the “cutting chai” I never really got the point behind that one to be honest 🤨. Ok so back to the topic ➡️this is the as close as you will get to the beloved Desi doodh patti that you get at the chai dhabas at Bukhari guys trust me on this👊🏻this chai is mom approved ✨( I brought her here in her last trip and after she berated me about how she could make chai for the whole family for a week back home at the price of one cup here) she proclaimed it delicious😋So it not only has my approval it has my moms seal of approval which basically means this place has it’s very own desi moms version of a Michelin👩🏻🍳 star🌟. So what are you waiting for❓Head on over for a bun and the yummy milk tea and take your moms too 😘
🌙How is everyone doing❓ First I want to wish a very happy & blessed Ramadan to everyone ✨💕 and second getting on with today’s blog post how to stay fit and healthy during this month. Now to those of you who are unfamiliar with the concept of Ramadan let me explain briefly here: Ramadan is the holy month for Muslims all over the world in which they abstain from eating and drinking from dawn⛅️ till dusk🌜. That’s sunrise and sunset in layman terms 😋. Depending upon where you reside in the world that could mean anywhere from 15-19 hours of not eating and drinking 😳. So it’s very important that you focus on your diet and lifestyle during this month to ensure you stay healthy. Most of us tend to look at fasting either as a way to diet or an excuse to over eat and neither approach is correct.
🌙Instead a balanced approach to diet and exercise ( yes you read it correct the first time exercise during fasting) will make the period of fasting easier on your body. So let’s start with the tips you need to know to make fasting a better and healthier experience for you:
🌙1- Eat a balanced 🍎🍞🍳diet- Fasting is not a free pass to eat like a glutton. Instead of loading your system with greasy🍔, fried🍟, sugary 🍩foods just because you abstained from eating all day will only make you a) take in excessive amounts of fat and calories. b) make you feel tired and inadvertently gain weight instead of loosing.
🌙Here is what you can do instead :
- At suhoor ( beginning of the fast ⛅️) Eat foods are that are high in energy and low in saturated fats. Start off your fast with fresh juices or fruit, dates, complex carbs like oats, whole meal bread, proteins -eggs so that you have lasting energy to get you through the day. At iftaar ( breaking your fast) try to eat less of the fried foods ( I know eliminating them completely might be a death ☠️ sentence for most people ). A pakora ( fried batter dumpling) or two and a samosa ( fried dough dumpling) or two should be enough, try not to make a meal out of it though. Instead eat a well rounded meal consisting of whole grain carbs, veggies and lean proteins (your digestive system will thank ✨you)❗️
- Stay hydrated 💧. Between the hours of suhoor and iftaar try and get between 4-6 glasses of water. I know some people say 3 liters of water but those people are crazy 😵. You know what happens after you force yourself to try and drink that much water after fasting for 15+ hours and then eating ❓ 🤮 that’s what happens either that or your stomach balloons up to resemble that of a pregnant lady completely with water sloshing around 🙄. So be sensible ✨Don’t let yourself get dehydrated but don’t go crazy overboard either.
- Lastly try incorporating a workout routine. I know it sounds nuts but trust me fasting is a great time to burn some fat. Since you are not eating your body had to rely on it’s stored fat for energy. You have to be very careful though that you don’t over exhaust yourself or get dehydrated. Workout in a well ventilated cool place, wear loose comfortable clothing, keep cardio limited and focus more on strength and toning🏋🏼♂️ workouts. Pace yourself during the workout and take breaks as needed. Pick a time that suits you for some people it’s right before iftaar, for me it’s somewhere during the morning around 9-10 is when I have energy to spare.

💫It’s a new year and we are already nearing the end of January😱 time it seems is literally flying 🛫. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are working hard at your new year resolutions. I’m not so much a resolution person myself I find being sporadic tends to work better for me. All of my best laid plans have a tendency to go awry anyways 😒.
💫So back to the topic I’m totally not a facial kind of person I hate being touched and honestly I have yet to see a facial do miracles 🙄. However the “HydraFacial” had me intrigued. The idea of not having my face polished, scrubbed and shined like shoe leather 👞 (which is exactly how I describe typical facials😋) is what appealed to me. The “HydraFacial” uses a patented vacuum technology which creates a vortex effect that easily dislodges and removes impurities while simultaneously hydrating the skin with tailored serums and potent antioxidants. Add to that the fact that it’s favored by top Hollywood celebrities ✨i was totally interested in booking myself a session.
💫The TaoSpa at Jumeirah Mall were offering an amazing 50% off to try the HydraFacial for the month of January 🎉✨! Since my skin was looking unusually lack luster and tired and it was the new year I decided it was the perfect time to renew and refresh ✨❣️
💫Back to the facial !The HydraFacial is a five step process: Vortex-Exfoliation™, Vortex-Peel™, Vortex-Extraction™, Vortex-Boost™, and Vortex-Fusion®. It typically lasts an hour but they also have the express option which takes just 30 mins.
💫This part is done by hand and to be honest it was a tad bit reminiscent of the traditional facials I have had in the past 😱. Thankfully it lasted only a few mins and then we got started with the high tech stuff 😬. For each process the therapist used a different colored sterilized tip. The first step was the vortex cleansing and exfoliation.
💫Your therapist will customize the vacuum suction based on your skin type. My skin is very sensitive so the suction was adjusted accordingly. The wand head simultaneously deposits the cleanser and sucks out the gunk from your pores. 💫The process is not the least bit uncomfortable all you feel is the cooling sensation of the cleanser/ serums and a light suction from the wand. After each step the wand tip will be rinsed and changed but the process will be the same: application of product followed by suction. Before the final step my therapist applied protein mask around my eyes while she proceeded to apply the vitamin serum.
Yes I look peculiar I know 🤫. And here is me post the treatment tada✨
💫My skin looked fresh, felt squeaky clean and baby soft 💕😱! FYI I’m not wearing any makeup here 😬 aah my dream of being able to face the world bare faced was finally coming true 😍❣️.
💫To sum up I would highly recommend the HydraFacial ✨it is recommended to get multiple sessions to see the full benefits. Alas ☹️ owing to the exorbitant cost that might not be a possibility for me atleast for the time being . That being said I would definitely try the HydraFacial again if I happen to stumble across a bargain deal 😘.

💋1- I don’t wear makeup unless it’s a special occasion. Everyday I’m barefaced and yes that includes most OOTD posts unless I specifically state I’m wearing makeup. Even then it’s limited to tinted moisturizer, lipstick, kohl and blush.
💋2-I love acting would love to make a career out of it someday lol wishful thinking 😋.
💋3- I love buying clothes I mean if I could wear a new outfit everyday that would be the perfect world 🌎 for me 😇
💋4- I hate working out 🏋🏻 but I do it anyway because my body attracts fat like a magnet 😳.
💋5- I wish I had the power to travel back in time and redo some of the things that I messed up 😔.
💋6-I have always wanted to do a cartwheel and a handstand.
💋7- I wish junk food and desserts weren’t fattening. 😋
💋8- I have always dreamed of waking up looking perfectly made up like in the 🎥 movies or in Instagram selfies 💋.Usually when I wake up I look like I’ve been wrestling wild cats all night😾😺.
💋9-I don’t believe in ghosts….except when I’m by myself at night and I’ve watched a horror flick 😳
💋10- I hate wearing heels 👠 if could wear my Tom’s everywhere I totally would 😊.
💋11- I color match my lingerie 😳 it drives me crazy if they aren’t the same color 😖.
💋12- I hate airplane food ✈️whenever I can I always buy myself a sandwich and a muffin( Costa, Paul or Starbucks 😋)to eat on board. (Doesn’t work out so well for long haul flights though 😡).
💋13- I love 💕rose scented anything (perfumes, cosmetics, skincare products 🌹). I recently tested ( more like sprayed it all over myself till the sales person raised her eyebrows) the rose 🌹 scented Oud (Arabic fragrance) from Loccitane and totally loved it 😍. (Hey it was a tester 😳)
💋14- I used to love reading 📖 but I haven’t been enthralled by a book since Harry Potter 😢. (Any recommendations?)
💋15– I am so sick and tired of people going on racist rants and spreading hate and violence just because they think they are entitled on the basis of their skin color which FYI is determined by your genes and not something that makes you superior or that you can change. ( Unless you happen to be Michael Jackson😎).
