Hola Loves 💕!
💫It’s a new year and we are already nearing the end of January😱 time it seems is literally flying 🛫. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are working hard at your new year resolutions. I’m not so much a resolution person myself I find being sporadic tends to work better for me. All of my best laid plans have a tendency to go awry anyways 😒.
💫So back to the topic I’m totally not a facial kind of person I hate being touched and honestly I have yet to see a facial do miracles 🙄. However the “HydraFacial” had me intrigued. The idea of not having my face polished, scrubbed and shined like shoe leather 👞 (which is exactly how I describe typical facials😋) is what appealed to me. The “HydraFacial” uses a patented vacuum technology which creates a vortex effect that easily dislodges and removes impurities while simultaneously hydrating the skin with tailored serums and potent antioxidants. Add to that the fact that it’s favored by top Hollywood celebrities ✨i was totally interested in booking myself a session.
💫The TaoSpa at Jumeirah Mall were offering an amazing 50% off to try the HydraFacial for the month of January 🎉✨! Since my skin was looking unusually lack luster and tired and it was the new year I decided it was the perfect time to renew and refresh ✨❣️
💫Back to the facial !The HydraFacial is a five step process: Vortex-Exfoliation™, Vortex-Peel™, Vortex-Extraction™, Vortex-Boost™, and Vortex-Fusion®. It typically lasts an hour but they also have the express option which takes just 30 mins.
💫This part is done by hand and to be honest it was a tad bit reminiscent of the traditional facials I have had in the past 😱. Thankfully it lasted only a few mins and then we got started with the high tech stuff 😬. For each process the therapist used a different colored sterilized tip. The first step was the vortex cleansing and exfoliation.
💫Your therapist will customize the vacuum suction based on your skin type. My skin is very sensitive so the suction was adjusted accordingly. The wand head simultaneously deposits the cleanser and sucks out the gunk from your pores. 💫The process is not the least bit uncomfortable all you feel is the cooling sensation of the cleanser/ serums and a light suction from the wand. After each step the wand tip will be rinsed and changed but the process will be the same: application of product followed by suction. Before the final step my therapist applied protein mask around my eyes while she proceeded to apply the vitamin serum.
Yes I look peculiar I know 🤫. And here is me post the treatment tada✨
💫My skin looked fresh, felt squeaky clean and baby soft 💕😱! FYI I’m not wearing any makeup here 😬 aah my dream of being able to face the world bare faced was finally coming true 😍❣️.
💫To sum up I would highly recommend the HydraFacial ✨it is recommended to get multiple sessions to see the full benefits. Alas ☹️ owing to the exorbitant cost that might not be a possibility for me atleast for the time being . That being said I would definitely try the HydraFacial again if I happen to stumble across a bargain deal 😘.
That’s it for this blog post my loves 💕! Thanks for stopping by❣️
Hola Love Bunnies🐰!
🍃Hope you are all doing awesome! I have been fairly absent from blogging lately 😖, but I have been so bogged down with studies I simply couldn’t find the energy to pen down anything for the blog 😩.
🍃Anyways I’ll try to be more regular starting today and you guys can expect to see a new post every week 😬. So today’s post is a product review featuring a local Dubai brand : Shirley Conlon Body Butter.
🍃I can across this brand when I was searching on Instagram for locally made organic skincare products. I had run out of my diy body cream and the ingredients to make any more batches😓. So while the new ones were on the way I needed something to keep my skin moisturized💦.
🍃The hard water 💧and dry ☀️weather makes for really itchy and dry skin here in the UAE. So long story short I placed an order via the website and a week later my product was delivered. I paid 140 aed which is around $38. Steep 💸 I know 😓 but the product sounded promising so I figured maybe it would be worth it …. Not!
🍃First off the Body Butter was more like body oil 💦it was totally melted and had leaked all over the plastic container it came in as well the packaging😡. Which was annoying but I figured ok it’s a natural product they don’t use chemicals or binders so no big deal I’ll keep it in the fridge to harden up. Now please note it was listed on the website as a whipped cream consistency.
🍃However once I took it out of the fridge it had solidified into a solid block 😳. So I figured never mind I’ll keep it out at room temperature which in my house is around 24 degrees 🌡celcius and it will soften up. Guess what? It turned back into a melted mess again! 😫 I was like what on earth?! I paid💰 that much for a tub of oil?!
🍃Part of me wanted to chuck it out because I was totally frustrated by that point. I mean if I wanted a body oil I would have just gotten one that was just that: an oil! 😖. I didn’t want to call them and complain because they had taken over a week to ship out the damned thing with no communication in between whatsoever, so I wasn’t expecting any amazing customer service from them anytime soon.
🍃So here’s what I did instead I had about half a jar of my diy cream left so I melted my cream and mixed it with the tub of Shirley Conlon Body Butter/Oil 😒 and cooled the lot together in the freezer for a few mins and then whipped it with my handy little mixer into voila : a cream!😍 And it worked ! I had a jar of creamy body butter at last! 🎉
🍃Whew! I was so thrilled ! I was honestly pissed into speechlessness when I saw what I had received from the company. However a little ingenuity on my part saved the day, my cash and the product😇.
🍃Here is the finished version of the body cream or butter I chucked the offending jar of Shirley Conlon out and reused my old diy cream jar 😍.
🍃Have you guys ever bought any products that were total disasters? Let me know about them in the comments section 😘.
🍃Until next time loves 💕💋!

🌱Today I’m going to share with you guys my remedy for getting rid of the annoying, unwanted skin peeve we all end up facing : “pimples” 😖. You know the ones i’m talking about : the red, inflamed, painful sometimes filled with icky 😷white bacteria that appear out of nowhere smack in the middle of your face😱. Right before an important event when you are all set to look like a diva👑.
🌱We’ve all been there 😖…. I for one feel like the moment I get a pimple on my face everything else about me becomes oblivious and the only thing people around me can focus on is that one abnormal growth on me😖.
🌱No matter how many tricks or home remedies I tried nothing would work read (toothpaste, tea tree oil, mouthwash, ice even garlic 😷). I would have to simply wait for the monstrosity to grow, take its time and sit on my face making me miserable for days. If I tried popping it or squeezing it I would be left with angry looking scars that would take months to fade.
🌱So coming to the remedy , about two days ago I was sitting watching useless videos about DIY fails on YouTube. When I felt out of nowhere something painful above my lip. Puzzled I went into the bathroom to take a look in the mirror and to my horror I saw a red, inflamed bump starting to form on the left side of my lips 😱. Now the next day I had to be somewhere important and sporting an angry looking pimple, disguised with concealer was not the way I wanted to be. 😡
Which brings us to the remedy, I tried this the night before and the morning after as well and continued till I felt the bump recede and then vanish✨. I was thrilled honestly this was the first time ever that I had been able to prevent a pimple from forming on my face🎉. So let’s get down to the details ✨the products I used were:
🌱Andalou Naturals Pumpkin Honey 🍯 Glyolic Mask,
🌱Alba Botanica Deep Clean Astringent
🌱Beauty Formulas Tea Tree Clarifying Blemish Gel.
🌱Start by applying the glyolic mask, making sure it covers the blemish. 🌱Let dry about 10 mins the mask will sting a bit depending on your skin type. The glyolic mask contains pumpkin enzymes and manuka honey 🍯 that slough off dead skin cells and impurities. Wash off and follow with the astringent toner. 🌱The toner consists of salicylic acid that prevents breakouts. Finally apply the blemish gel with extracts of tea tree and witch hazel helps heal existing pimples and prevents new ones from forming. 🌱So there you have it guys my tried and tested remedy for getting rid of pimples fast⚡️. How do you guys deal with breakouts? Share your remedies/tips with me right here 😘
Until next time xoxo💋.
Welcome to another DIY post 😘. Since I had so much fun making my own DIY lip balm I decided to give face and body creams a try ✨ Making your own creams and butters can appear a bit daunting at first but if you use a few pure, ingredients it really is very simple. Just remember this one ☝️ cardinal rule : ‼️Anytime you add water, extracts, gels or tinctures to an oil/butter mix you will need to add preservatives‼️
Meaning as long as your cream/butter mixture contains oils, essential oils and butters you can use them without refrigeration or the need for any preservatives. However since water 💦 creates an environment for mold and bacteria you will need a preservative or your cream/lotion/butter will develop mold and go rancid even if you refrigerate it. Also please note that vitamin E 🚫oil is not a preservative and will not prevent mold from forming you will need a chemical preservative.
You will need :
🌱3/4 cup Shea butter
🌱3/4 cup cocoa butter
🌱1/2 tsp 🐝beeswax pastilles or 2 tsp arrow root powder.
( Beeswax binds the oils and butters together, while arrowroot gives the cream a slightly matte feel which I find perfect for the summer when you don’t want a greasy after feel from your cream especially if you are planning to use it on your face. If using the arrowroot omit the beeswax if you use both you will end up with a somewhat firmer texture to your cream. If you want a lighter texture just use the arrowroot powder).
🌱1 tbsp each of avocado 🥑 oil , jojoba oil and almond oil.
🌱1 tsp of Rose hip seed oil
🌱1/2 tsp of neem oil ( Neem oil is a great anti inflammatory oil and helps prevent breakouts. However it has a very strong, bordering on stinky odour so if you find you cannot😷 stand the smell use tea tree oil instead).
🌱Start by sterilizing your equipment, I wiped down my utensils with alcohol 🍺 swabs and air dried them.
🌱Next heat up your shea and cocoa butter along with the beeswax ( if you are adding it) in a heat proof container placed over a pan of simmering water. 🌱Stir together until the butters are melted through.
🌱Cover with plastic wrap and place container in the freezer for 10 ⏱mins to cool down and thicken slightly. 🌱This is what your mixture will look like after about 10 mins slightly thick but not frozen. At this point add in the oils, the arrowroot powder (if using) and start whisking with your electric mixer you can also use a stand mixer if you have one and make your task less labour intensive 😘.
🌱After about 10 mins your mixture will start to resemble a thick whipped cream 😱😍. 🌱Add in your essential oil and continue to whip or mix until the cream thickens and sticks to the whisks. 🌱And voila✨ your homemade cream is ready!🎉 All that’s left now is to transfer it your storage container and it’s ready to use 😍. Make sure you sterilize and dry your storage containers ‼️remember water breeds mold ‼️. The cream will keep easily for several months at 25 🌡degrees C (that’s the temperature indoors here) if it’s hot where you live keep it in the refrigerator ❄️. 🌱This cream is buttery soft, melts on contact with your skin and is non greasy thanks to the arrowroot powder. The geranium oil adds a lovely floral scent 💐. It’s very concentrated so a little will go a long way. Plus the best part is it is all natural and contains zero chemicals✨.
🌱Do try this recipe and let me know how it turned out for you 😘
Until next time loves xoxo💋!
Hello Loves! ☀️
☀️Today was the official start of summer here in Dubai 😭. Of all the seasons summer is the one I detest the most no offense to anyone. 😘
☀️I hate the heat doing a double attack on my person, beating down relentlessly on my head and rising from the ground in suffocating waves. 😖 Summer here is no laughing matter and it takes a toll on your skin and hair as well. Which is why come summer I have to give my skincare regime a complete overhaul.
☀️One of the major issues with my skin as a result of the heat and humidity is clogged pores. After trying countless products I have finally found one that lives up to its claims. ☀️Yes the humble pore strip 😋. Don’t turn your nose up just yet✋🏻. I know most pore strips are simply : put crapola in a fancy box. They either don’t stick properly despite going over them repeatedly with a paint roller dipped in super glue 😒. Or they adhere so bad that you fear your skin coming off along with the strip 😱 And your pores remain clogged 😫.
☀️The Beauty Formulas strips promise you cleaner, less noticeable pores minus the torture of a skin peel.☀️They come in a pack of six and are partially precut to adhere to your skin with just water 💦. Goodbye crazy glue 👋🏻 Just wash your face, dampen the skin, peel the strip, press firmly to ensure no air bubbles are left and leave till stiff 10-15 mins. Then peel off and voila! ✨ Smooth, bump free skin, smaller pores and one heck of a satisfyingly nasty strip. 😝☀️I usually follow with quick exfoliation with a scrub and use a toner or a mask and that’s it! Pores be gone! This strip pulls out blackheads and whiteheads. Just be careful though and don’t use it if you have active or painful acne or any skin condition. 😘 I give this product 5/5!✨
☀️So that was part of my regimen for summer skin. How do you guys take care of your skin in the summer and what are some of your skin peeves?
☀️Let me know here!
Until next time 💋!
