👃🏻Shopaholic Reviews: Beauty Formulas Pore Strips👃🏻

Hello Loves! ☀️

☀️Today was the official start of summer here in Dubai 😭. Of all the seasons summer is the one I detest the most no offense to anyone. 😘

☀️I hate the heat doing a double attack on my person, beating down relentlessly on my head and rising from the ground in suffocating waves. 😖 Summer here is no laughing matter and it takes a toll on your skin and hair as well. Which is why come summer I have to give my skincare regime a complete overhaul.

☀️One of the major issues with my skin as a result of the heat and humidity is clogged pores. After trying countless products I have finally found one that lives up to its claims. ☀️Yes the humble pore strip 😋. Don’t turn your nose up just yet✋🏻. I know most pore strips are simply : put crapola in a fancy box. They either don’t stick properly despite going over them repeatedly with a paint roller dipped in super glue 😒. Or they adhere so bad that you fear your skin coming off along with the strip 😱 And your pores remain clogged 😫.

☀️The Beauty Formulas strips promise you cleaner, less noticeable pores minus the torture of a skin peel.☀️They come in a pack of six and are partially precut to adhere to your skin with just water 💦. Goodbye crazy glue 👋🏻 Just wash your face, dampen the skin, peel the strip, press firmly to ensure no air bubbles are left and leave till stiff 10-15 mins. Then peel off and voila! ✨ Smooth, bump free skin, smaller pores and one heck of a satisfyingly nasty strip. 😝☀️I usually follow with quick exfoliation with a scrub and use a toner or a mask and that’s it! Pores be gone! This strip pulls out blackheads and whiteheads. Just be careful though and don’t use it if you have active or painful acne or any skin condition. 😘 I give this product 5/5!✨

☀️So that was part of my regimen for summer skin. How do you guys take care of your skin in the summer and what are some of your skin peeves?

☀️Let me know here!

Until next time 💋!

🎭Shopaholic Reviews : Sheet Masks 🎭

🎭Hello Loves!

🎭So the weather here has started to warm up already 😭 which means it’s time to start investing in a summer skincare regime.

🎭I’ve been hearing a lot of rave reviews about sheer masks lately so I thought about giving them a try. I picked up this sheet mask from Boots at 25 aed.

🎭As per instructions you are supposed to leave it on your face for 10-15 mins for the ultimate spa experience at a fraction of the cost 💸. The mask is a standard size which meant it was too large for my petite face 😋. It comes pre cut with openings for the eyes and mouth and contains the moisturizing and hydrating mixture and also made me look like a knife wielding murderer 🔪.Nope I’m not uploading that picture here 😋. 🎭Despite being at room temperature the mask felt very cold and to be honest slimy 😱. I didn’t enjoy the feel of it on my face at all 😮 honestly I couldn’t wait to take it off 😕. Afterwards my skin did feel soft and a bit sticky I had to wash my face and apply my regular moisturizer. ☹️

🎭So at least it wasn’t a total loss, I got to experience the latest beauty rage and realize it was not for me at all 😒 and I didn’t end up breaking the bank.

🎭Have you guys tried sheet masks ? What was your experience like? Which brands would you recommend I try?

Let me know in the comments 😘

Until next time 💕

✨Shopaholics Sporadic Shopping Spree✨

Hello 💞guys,

Today’s post is completely unplanned. I was at the mall ( big surprise there 😉). No I had to visit my cell phone provider and that’s it I swear. Halfway through the mall Mother Nature 🌹decided to make a visit 😱. Yes I know TMI but bear with me it will make sense. To be honest I had been expecting her for a while but if she would just bloody make up her mind and show up on time for once we wouldn’t be having this conversation. 😡

So once I felt the warning signs I rummaged through my bag for my emergency 🚨 stash. Yes I always have the essentials since the visits have been sporadic for awhile now. However as 🍀luck would have it I was totally out. Which brings us to the “sporadic shopping spree” bit. I nipped into the nearest boots, which thankfully was deserted given, it was 1:30 on a weekday and no annoying sales people! 😱 I swear if anyone had approached me with the intention of pestering me to buy the latest anti aging on special I would have snapped 🔥.

I just wanted to pickup what I needed along with some non essentials to camouflage incase the cashier was a guy (yes I’m very paranoid in this regard 😥) and rush off to the nearest ladies room.

I ended up buying what I needed, I got the Lillets,  point blank because the packaging was adorable 💗 I mean who wouldn’t want to buy that seriously 💕. Along with, drumroll 🥁:

✨A sheet mask.(They are trending in skincare and I wanted to know what exactly is so amazing about them).

✨A Mustela baby bar🍼& baby wash.  I love mustela products, ever since I became an aunt and I sneaked baby meemo’s baby wash 😋. I love the fragrance and how they aren’t harsh or drying to the skin.

✨And finally the Beauty Formula, face wipes. I’ve used their pore strips before and they worked amazingly well so I decided to see if these would work just as well.

Then since I was near a Starbucks and quiet frankly worn out from stress and cramps I treated myself to the ultimate comfort food outside of home. A white chocolate caramel mocha 🍫☕️.

So there you have it guys my unplanned mini shopping spree rant.  Hope you enjoyed that and do share your shopping stories with me I would love to hear them 😘.

Much love xoxo💋

✨Shopaholic Reviews : Maybelline Lasting 24 Hour Gel Eyeliner✨

Hey Everybody! 💞

Your fav shopaholic here with a short and sweet product review. If you have been following my Instagram which you totally should btw 😉 since you will catch all of my awesome updates there ✨. You might have noticed a sneak peak of this product there 🎉. As I have mentioned in countless posts before liner is my go to makeup item and one that I can make look half way decent on myself 😇

I have gone through a fair share of eyeliners over the years pencils, powder and gels. However I always am on the lookout for something that will make applying liner a breeze and give me somewhat symmetrical looking eyes😒.

I’ve honestly found over the years that a high price tag doesn’t equal superior quality or better results. So I do like to try out drugstore brands quiet often even though they do have the problem of not allowing you to try the product in store before buying. ☹️

So usually with drugstore brands it’s hit or miss. For this product I was a little wary to being with since I couldn’t try it but I figured I always do need liner and as long as it didn’t give a horrible rash it was worth a try. 😵

So here’s presenting the✨ Maybelline Lasting 24 hour Gel Liner✨.I chose the color black that’s it no fancy names here. The packaging is pretty basic: a tiny glass pot with a aluminum lid accompanied by a dual ended brush.😕Onto the product, the liner has a creamy texture and goes on smoothly.

The color is  rich and intense and even though looking at the brush I was initially doubtful at being able to line my eyes it surprisingly did a pretty good job. Either that or my hand was extra steady today 😜.

That being said taking it off was pretty difficult I used a makeup wipe and I had to really go after it to get it completely off. Now normally that would mean good news since it reads long wearability to me. However I haven’t tried this liner in the dead of summer here and that is when most makeup items fail the long wear test miserably.

So for the time being I give this product a 4/5. If any of you have used this do comment below and let me know how you liked it.

Until next time my loves

Xoxo 💋!

✨Shopaholic Reviews: Fade Out Eye Defense ✨

Hello Everyone!

Today we are going to talk about everyone’s favorite beauty peeve “dark circles”. Aah yes the much coveted 🐼panda/raccoon eye that we all love to hate and are forever trying to desperately conceal with a myriad of makeup and skincare hacks.

Here’s the thing with the exception of babies👶🏻 and toddlers almost everyone of us is plagued with some degree of darkness around our eyes. For me it’s been a lifelong struggle that’s getting progressively worse with age I might add.

I have tried, raved, scoffed and tossed practically every mainstream product you can name. While most have been utter failures, some have offered various degrees of improvement, none to date have managed to rid me of my dark predicament in its entirety.

Still being the gullible fool I am, I continue to fall for every new product that claims to brighten and lighten ✨. So here’s presenting yet another miracle in a tube 😒. The FadeOut Eye Defense Cream with SPF 25.  .

A little disclaimer here: I’ve used FadeOut products in the past with meh results so I don’t know why I bought this one 🤔.Must have been an impulse/out of desperation purchase 😳. Ok back to the efficacy of the product. I have been using it for 3 weeks now and I have to say it’s made an improvement with my under eye woes. The circles are definitely lighter though they haven’t altogether disappeared. I find I can get away with a bit of illuminator under the eyes as opposed to before when I would have to begrudgingly slather on concealer ( which I hate btw because it always creases 😡)It also has the added benefit of having SPF and anti aging properties. Texture wise it is light cream that is easily absorbed. It is not very moisturizing so you will need to follow with your regular moisturizer.

Overall I would give this product 4/5 ✨. It’s not stellar (are they ever ?😒) But it does a fairly good job so go on give it try and let me know what you think 😘

Until next time loves xoxo 💋

🍃Shopaholic’s Back to Basics Featuring: St Ives🍃

✨One of the things that makes me nostalgic during shopping is coming across brands I’ve used during my teenage years ✨Aah the magical life of a teen when you are nearly an adult but still holding on unwillingly to your childhood innocence … 😪

✨Anyways once upon a hundred years ago 😒when i was a teenager battling hormone related skin eruptions one brand I used religiously was St Ives ( I would always pronounce it Saint Eeves 😁)

✨The very first product I used from the brand was their apricot scrub a creamy gritty, sand like texture which I would work religiously into my skin hoping to for glowing, model like skin 😳.

✨I’m not sure if the scrub helped my acne or made it worse but the feeling of exfoliating was incredibly satisfying back then 😉.

✨Fast forward to the present I was in the supermarket a couple of days ago when I passed by a display for ST Ives and I stopped dead in my tracks at the sight of the familiar packaging 😍( They really haven’t made any drastic changes to their packaging over the years, just saying).

✨Since then they have expanded their line to add a variety of scrubs and face washes with varying exfoliating factors (Gentle 🐰for whimps , Moderate 🐯 for the ones just getting into the exfoliating game and Deep for people with alligator hides 🐊like yours truly 😁).

✨What caught my eye this time was the Even & Bright Pink Lemon & Mandarin Orange Scrub 😳 whew! Try asking your significant other to pick that up for you on a store run 😉.

✨This is a 100% natural exfoliant with zero parabens, hypo allergenic with an exfoliation factor of Moderate. It comes in a 6 oz tube like most of their scrubs and face washes ( they are really obsessed with this tube packaging for some reason 🤔).

✨It’s a creamy texture with micro scrubby bits that go to work gently polishing away dirt and buildup. Does it immediately reveal bright, polished skin? 🤔I don’t know really maybe my eyesight is really bad. Or I’m missing the brightness filter. Either way my skin looks pretty much the same just feels cleaner and feels fresh 🍃.

✨Ok so the extravagant marketing claims aside this is really is a very good exfoliator. It’s got enough of a gritty texture to give you a good exfoliation ( have I beaten that word to death in this review or what😉?). Plus the creamy texture makes it mild enough for moderately sensitive skin if you are super sensitive I suggest you pass on this.

✨Once again a winning product from America’s No. 1 Scrub brand! Umm no I really don’t believe that I just copied that from the back of the tube 😳. But seriously though I really like this product it does the job of cleaning your face and giving it a good Scrub without making it look like you had a run in with a gravel pit ( over exfoliation😳) and doesn’t dry out your skin.

✨So go ahead give it a try it’s shopaholic approved!💞 Have you tried any of St Ives products ? Let me know in the comments 😘

✨Until next time loves xoxo💋

✨Shopaholic’s Back to Basics ✨

✨Hey Loves!

✨As much as I love trying out new products there comes a time when i tend to go back to the basics 💞. Products that have stood the test of time and trail repeatedly and have emerged as stellar ✨. One such brand is Olay✨. As a kid I remember the pearlescent pink bottle with the black cap on my grandmother’s side table. Years later I would sneak the red Regenerist container from my mother’s dresser hoping to get glowing skin like hers .😇

✨So when I started my hunt for anti aging skincare ( yes I’m an old maid😒) the first brand I tried out was Olay. Over the years though I’ve constantly tried different brands I’ve always gone back to Olay after a while. Regenerist, total effects I’ve tried them all, some hit the mark others I decided to pass on the next time around.

✨While I enjoyed using the Regenerist line for a while my personal favorite is their total effects line. In particular the serum and the face lotion, which tackle the seven signs of aging :

Loss of moisture

Wrinkles

Uneven skin tone

Uneven skin texture

Lackluster skin

Lack of hydration

Visible pores

✨Plus it offers SPF 15 for sun protection.☀️ They have also expanded their anti aging line by adding BB and CC creams. Both the BB and CC creams offer the same anti aging benefits as the original total effects but with a hint of foundation for slight coverage.

✨I personally use the serum and anti aging moisturizer on a daily basis with the CC cream occasionally when my skin is misbehaving and I need a little coverage. If you are a foundation fan then you will find the coverage with the BB and CC creams minimal. Since I don’t bother with foundation it gives me the coverage I need without the need for blending.

✨The formulas are non greasy and offer day long hydration and smooth my skin out. Plus they are priced reasonably and are available at most drugstores.

✨Have you guys tried Olay products? Which ones are your favorites ? Let me know here 😘
