✨Shopaholic Tries The Lush Life ✨

Ok I know 🙄what you are thinking ..really Nida❓ Where’s the no pun intended disclaimer 😋❓

Haha! I couldn’t resist 😋. Hey if you can’t actually have the Lush life ✨hint.. Zara Larsson 😉. Might as well try the next best thing 😋ok that’s my last lame joke I promise 😁.

But seriously incase you are wondering if I had been living under a rock all this time I probably was. It wasn’t until last year that I really got into actively using natural 🍃,organic products.

Since I’ve been hearing so much about  Lush by bloggers I figured I had to try them out. Which is easier said then done as the only Lush store here is in Dubai Mall 🙄.

So anyway I made it a point to hunt down the Lush store which is located in a corner btw which was why I never noticed it before 😖.

When I was in California I had been to the  Lush store several times with my bff who is an avid fan but I never bought anything. What can I say I was living in the age of ignorance. 😶

Since I was out of body and hand cream I decided to try those out first. After much sniffing and sampling and wearing out two of the sales associates who eventually gave up and left me to it. I picked out the Dream Cream and the Handy Gurugu.

First off I love the packaging it’s very minimalist just a black, plastic pot with chalk like font. On the side of the pot is a caricature 💁🏽and name of the person who made and packaged your cream as well as the expiration date ( thank you!).

The Dream Cream 💕came in a 240 gram pot and despite my initial skepticism at it being able to moisturize well ( it has a very light consistency). It actually keeps my skin soft for a good 7-8 hours without it being greasy and a little goes a long way 😱.   In general Lush products don’t have strong fragrances since they mostly use essential oils instead of artificial fragrances, so Body shop and Bath and Body Works fans who are used to being hit in the face 👊🏻with a strong whiff 🌪the moment they open the jars or tubes might be disappointed .

Personally I didn’t mind it at all, I’d rather the product does what it claims i.e long lasting moisture with all natural ingredients🍃. The most discernible scent was that of their patchouli cream which I will try once I run out of the Dream Cream. My rating 5/5 ✨  The Hand Gurugu is a buttery hand cream which moisturizes without overly greasing your hands. It’s not so much a cuticle cream which is what I was looking for but I like it as a hand cream not stellar though. It is also concentrated so you need a tiny amount. Comes in a 100 gram jar. My rating 4/5✨  All in all I am happy with my Lush experience and am definately looks forward to try their other products.

Are you a Lush fan? What products do you recommend I try from them next? Do let me know in the comments 💕

✨Shopaholic’s Favorite💖 Beauty Hacks ✨

Hello Loves 💞!Today I will be sharing some of my favorite beauty and fashion hacks 🕵! Every beauty maven and fashionista has her own tips and tricks, little shortcuts that make life a tad easier and for a whole lot cheaper 🤑now who doesn’t love that! Some of you might have already tried and/or heard of some of these 😱! For others this might be an introduction, in any case sit back and enjoy as I take you through the hack list of a shopaholic 💫

Dry Shampoo hack ✨,
✨ The reason this hack is first is because I hate washing my hair😡. It takes too long and then I have to condition it, wait for it to dry and turn into a frizzy, fluffy ball then straighten it…you get the idea 😒.I try to extend time between washings which is not always easy cause my roots get oily pretty quick.

✨ Now commercial dry shampoos work fine ( some of them). But here’s the problem, they are pricey💸, they run out too fast 👎🏼and they are chock full of chemicals. Here’s where the hack comes in, you can make dry shampoo in your own kitchen for a fraction of the price! All you need is : arrowroot powder about 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons of Dutch cocoa powder + 1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder. (If you have lighter hair omit the cocoa powder, I have super dark hair so I feel it blends in better with the cocoa😇).

✨Mix together keep in an airtight container and use like you would regular dry shampoo! Plus you get the added benefit of smelling like chocolate and cinnamon yumm!.

✨Tinted Moisturizer hack ✨Don’t feel like full coverage, but don’t want to invest in a tinted moisturizer or CC cream? No problem just mix a pump or two of your foundation (liquid💧) with your moisturizer and voila!✨ your own tinted moisturizer/CC cream!

✨Skimpy eyelashes hack

✨I have tried this countless times! I don’t have skimpy eyelashes nor do I have lush lashes I fall squarely in between 😒. At times however when I am too rough removing my eyemakeup or just rub the crap out of my eyes my lashes do fall out at random 😱. Castor oil to the rescue ! Just use a cotton swab to apply castor oil to your lashes just before bedtime and you will see thicker, longer lashes guaranteed !✨

Crossback bra hack

✨Wearing a halter dress or tank tops and don’t own a Crossback bra? No biggie, take a medium sized paper clip and thread it through the bra straps at the back to make a temporary cross back bra and hide those pesky bra straps out of sight. You can buy the real bra clips later here.

Face scrub hack,  ✨Run out of exfoliator? Rummage through your pantry. Baking soda is an ingredient in most everybody’s kitchen. Mix two tablespoons baking soda with 1 tablespoon lemon juice and apply to your face. Rub gently over your face as you would with a convention scrub and wash off. Smooth, glowing skin yes indeed ✨!

Eyeshadow hack, ✨ Eye primer and concealer not making those shadows bright enough? Apply a white liner pencil on your lid after your primer and brush on your shadow, the white will make the colors pop!✨ This works really well on pastel or lighter shades that don’t show up too well especially if you have a darker skin tone.

Sweaty Feet hack,  ✨As gross as it sounds, sweaty feet in the summer are sometimes unavoidable especially if you are wearing closed toe shoes.

✨Never fear, all you need is an anti perspirant and you’re good to go. Just make sure you use a separate one for your feet 😷. Roll on the anti perspirant on the soles of your feet let dry for a few minutes and you are good too go!👣

✨There you have it peeps! Shopaholic’s beauty hacks✨! How many of these have you tried ? Let me know right here!

Until next time xoxo!💋
