☕️ShopaholicBlogs @PappaRoti ☕️

☕️Any trip to Dubai Mall for me is so not complete without a refuel at @papparotiuae 😋☕️ ok so I’ll admit it as much as I love my lattes, (that is from my years in California before that the only coffee I knew was the Bahadurabad wali Nescafé Espresso which was actually frothy milk with instant coffee and a drizzle of cream on top in a stryrofoam cup that I would always invariably bite through it was so flimsy 😳).

☕️I am at heart a huge chai fan ✨and I don’t mean the overly sweet westernized chai latte or chai tea mainstream coffee chains try to pass off as a weak replacement of the real thing, by which I mean quintessential Desi Doodh Patti –chai☕️

Ok for people that don’t know chai means tea, so when you call it chai tea that literally means tea tea 🙄. It’s just chai people just ask for chai any Desi will get what you are saying, on the other hand if you ask them for chai tea they will just look at you like you like what the F***🤨.

☕️My love💞and insatiable craving for chai is something that I have inherited from my mother👩🏻 who needs her two mugs of steaming, burn your tongue off, rich, creamy doodh patti chai (my mom is a chai connoisseur guys) And while I may not be as picky when it comes to my cuppa I have to admit a poorly made cup of tea does piss me off 😡.

☕️Which is why I was thrilled to bits when I chanced upon the papparoti franchise 🤩. Not only do they have mouth watering buns (read calorific disaster which will require atleast 2 hours in the gym not the measly 30 min jog that I kid myself into believing will burn off the 1000 calorie damage I do when I eat out 😖). They actually have proper Desi chai ☕️🤩I mean the real deal with elaichi and saffron versions 😍 in a proper mug ❣️not a 2 sip and it’s empty measly tea cup I mean which legit Desi, brown person drinks chai in a dainty tea cup??

☕️And no I’m not referring to the “cutting chai” I never really got the point behind that one to be honest 🤨. Ok so back to the topic ➡️this is the as close as you will get to the beloved Desi doodh patti that you get at the chai dhabas at Bukhari guys trust me on this👊🏻this chai is mom approved ✨( I brought her here in her last trip and after she berated me about how she could make chai for the whole family for a week back home at the price of one cup here) she proclaimed it delicious😋So it not only has my approval it has my moms seal of approval which basically means this place has it’s very own desi moms version of a Michelin👩🏻‍🍳 star🌟. So what are you waiting for❓Head on over for a bun and the yummy milk tea and take your moms too 😘

Shopaholic Reviews : 🍃Organic Press 🍍🍌

Hi Guys!

🍊So I’m sure we are all aware of the well worn adage “you are what you eat “. And as of late I was realizing that my diet was far from healthy. I was consuming way too many processed foods and loading up on sugar since I was always feeling lethargic. I have never been a fan of greens or fruits and I always thought I could make up for my diet deficiencies by loading up on supplements. But despite popping pills regularly I could see my skin, hair and nails steadily detoriating. My skin was looking lack luster, my hair was falling out and my nails were getting brittle to the point I had to cut them all the way back to the quick to avoid them snagging on clothing and breaking. 😭

🍎Now again im not one for making drastic changes so I knew I had to ease into the realm of healthier eating gradually. Amongst other things one change I made was incorporating fresh, raw fruits into my diet. Now since I don’t like eating fruit ( yes I’m an alien 👽my mom’s told me that like a million times now 😖). I decided juicing was a viable alternative . However finding fresh, raw unpasteurized juice without added sugars or preservatives turned out to be quiet a challenge. I mean despite grocery stores being filled with juices of all kinds even the organic variety. They were all full of sugar, preservatives and were pasteurized. Which is basically cooking the juice at high 🌡temperatures to ensure it doesn’t rot. Of course this equals to all the vitamins and minerals in the juice being dead 💀. So basically you are just consuming a non carbonated sugary beverage.

🍓After much research I came upon Organic Press🍍. They are a Dubai based company that produces fresh juices, smoothies and dairy free 🥜 nut based milks. Since they use a hydraulic press all their juices are raw and unpasteurized and contain no added sugars. I tried their raspberry smoothie, almond cacao milk , almond milk, pineapple and mint juice and coconut water. All the products were delivered chilled in clear plastic bottles (500 ml) with the ingredients and calorie counts clearly labeled.

🍍So far I have enjoyed everything I have ordered. My favorite is the Almond/Cacao smoothie which tastes just like a chocolate milkshake without the zillion calories 🍫.🍓The juices and smoothies taste fresh, aren’t sugary sweet and best of all the bottles are clear so I can see through to the very last drop what’s going into my mouth. I don’t know about you. But ever since I saw people posting pics of nasty ☠️bacteria at the bottom of their cardboard container juices/milks I have started avoiding cardboard beverages altogether. If i can’t see 🔬what’s in it it’s not going into my body simple.

🍊The company offers several juice detox combos as well as giving you the option to customize your own package. Delivery is free on orders above 200aed. So go ahead and try them out you will love it 💕. Shopaholic’s promise 😘.

🍒If you have tried Organic Press let me know what’s your favorite juice/ smoothie flavor?

🔷Shopaholic Goes Greek🔷🇬🇷

🔷Hello Loves!🔷

🔷Today we are going Greek! 🇬🇷 Well with the food atleast😋 I have been wanting to try Greek cuisine ever since I first watched “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” which 💕I LOVE💕 and have watched a gazillion times already 😍. I recently watched the sequel as well and throughly enjoyed it though to be honest it doesn’t come close to the fabulousness of the original 💖.

🔷 A couple of days ago I was at the Mall of the Emirates, and my family and I were trying to decide where to eat when I caught sight of the familiar blue and white decor as well as a sign “Eat Greek“! I dragged my family over excitedly and luckily since it was still early afternoon we were seated immediately.

🔷I was immediately taken by the decor of the restaurant which is classic Mediterranean, with weathered limestone and wood floors, stone washed walls and cheery blue and white checkered napkins on the tables.  🔷There is a huge open kitchen towards the back of the restaurant where you can see the chefs preparing the delicious, Greek specialities 😋

🔷Our waiter was very friendly and helped us make our selections. I was looking forward to try out the Moussaka🔹(I remembered it from the movie😇).

🔷 Moussaka is basically Greek lasagne, it’s a layer of mince meat, topped by thinly sliced eggplant, mashed potatoes  and finished off by a thick layer of bechamel and cheese and baked to tasty perfection !😋Yum!

🔷We also ordered Butter Fish with bechamel sauce and roasted veggies. The fish was incredibly tender and moist and the sauce was delish!💕

🔷 A Greek meal is so not complete without lamb! I usually hate Lamb because I have never liked the taste but our waiter encouraged us to try it. So we ordered the Lamb pita which is basically Grilled lamb skewer mixed with tzatziki, tomato, onions & chips, wrapped in pita bread

🔷 First of all the presentation had me oohing and aahing💖! Second the taste was awesome, the pita bread was freshly baked the tzatziki was creamy and delicious and the special touch was the hand cut discs of fried potatoe chips that were absolutely delicious! 💕

🔷Lets not forget the freshly baked warm bread dressed with olive oil and flecked with herbs that satisfied the carb freak in me 😍.

🔷The fantastic meal was followed by Greek coffee which I was so eager to try😇!

🔷Check out the cute presentation! Greek coffee tastes a lot like Turkish coffee except that it is finished off by a serving of juicy figs in warm honey 😋. Yumm!

🔷Of course there was no way I was leaving without trying dessert! Once again our waiter helped us out by suggesting,we order the dessert sampler so we could get a bit of everything 💖.  🔷Our platter included starting from the left Sokolatopita (dark chocolate pie)

🔹Loukoumades – Grandma’s doughnuts with honey & nutella,(melt in your mouth good!),

🔹 Galaktoboureko – milk custard pie, vanilla scented ( so creamy and topped with crackling pastry😋),

🔹Orange Pie – with vanilla ice cream ( sweet and citrusy) and finally the tiramisu💖💖!

🔷The most unusual tiramisu (that is the actual name!)above was served in the tiniest jar I have ever seen ! And it was soooo good !💕

🔷Below is the Sokolatopita – baked to order Valhrona dark chocolate pie with orange ice cream in the tiniest little ramekin because it was so rich ! 💟

🔷We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at “Eat Greek”!💕 The decor was warm and welcoming and felt authentically Greek 🇬🇷. The service was our unobtrusive yet friendly and attentive and the food was delicious! If you are in the area I highly recommend a visit to “Eat Greek”!

🔷Hope you guys enjoyed this culinary trip to Greece with me 💕! Now I’m off to watch “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” again😉.

🔷Until next time loves xoxo!💋
