🍃Shopaholic reviews : Aztec Secret Indian Beauty Clay🍃

Hola Bunnies 🐰💕

🍃Today on the blog I will be reviewing a product that I found to be highly rated by beauty bloggers and highly reviewed on Amazon : “The Aztec Secret Indian Beauty Clay”.

🍃Consisting of 100% calcium bentonite clay it is supposed to rejuvenate, refresh and beautify your skin. Isn’t that what they all claim 😒. 🍃The clay is to be mixed with either 💦 , apple 🍎 cider vinegar or rose 🌹 water to make a thick paste which you apply leave on for 10-15 ⏲mins or till it dries and wash off. For me the mask got uncomfortably tight as it dried and to be very honest I saw no difference whatsoever in my skin post the application. 😭

👎🏻I have had way better results with my DIY masks then this . Neither did it make any difference to acne prone skin ( I made my sister try it on her breakouts). All in all I give it a big fat thumbs down 👎🏻.

🍃Have you guys tried this product? Which mask would you recommend let me know in the comments down below 😘

Until next time loves 💕

Shopaholic Remedies:  Get Rid of Pimples Super Fast!

Hello Loves!

🌱Today I’m going to share with you guys my remedy for getting rid of the annoying, unwanted skin peeve we all end up facing :  “pimples” 😖. You know the ones i’m talking about : the red, inflamed, painful sometimes filled with icky 😷white bacteria that appear out of nowhere smack in the middle of your face😱. Right before an important event when you are all set to look like a diva👑.

🌱We’ve all been there 😖…. I for one feel like the moment I get a pimple on my face everything else about me becomes oblivious and the only thing people around me can focus on is that one abnormal growth on me😖.

🌱No matter how many tricks or home remedies I tried nothing would work read (toothpaste, tea tree oil, mouthwash, ice even garlic 😷). I would have to simply wait for the monstrosity to grow, take its time and sit on my face making me miserable for days. If I tried popping it or squeezing it I would be left with angry looking scars that would take months to fade.

🌱So coming to the remedy , about two days ago I was sitting watching useless videos about DIY fails on YouTube. When I felt out of nowhere something painful above my lip. Puzzled I went into the bathroom to take a look in the mirror and to my horror I saw a red, inflamed bump starting to form on the left side of my lips 😱. Now the next day I had to be somewhere important and sporting an angry looking pimple, disguised with concealer was not the way I wanted to be. 😡

Which brings us to the remedy, I tried this the night before and the morning after as well and continued till I felt the bump recede and then vanish✨. I was thrilled honestly this was the first time ever that I had been able to prevent a pimple from forming on my face🎉. So let’s get down to the details ✨the products I used were:

🌱Andalou Naturals Pumpkin Honey 🍯 Glyolic Mask,

🌱Alba Botanica Deep Clean Astringent

🌱Beauty Formulas Tea Tree Clarifying Blemish Gel.

🌱Start by applying the glyolic mask, making sure it covers the blemish. 🌱Let dry about 10 mins the mask will sting a bit depending on your skin type. The glyolic mask contains pumpkin enzymes and manuka honey 🍯 that slough off dead skin cells and impurities. Wash off and follow with the astringent toner. 🌱The toner consists of salicylic acid that prevents breakouts. Finally apply the blemish gel with extracts of tea tree and witch hazel helps heal existing pimples and prevents new ones from forming. 🌱So there you have it guys my tried and tested remedy for getting rid of pimples fast⚡️. How do you guys deal with breakouts? Share your remedies/tips with me right here 😘

Until next time xoxo💋.

🍃Shopaholic’s Product Review : Andalou Naturals Visibly Firm Day & Night Cream🍃

🔆Hello Peeps!

It’s summer time 🔆 and since summers equal 🔥heat and humidity💧its the perfect time to switch up my skincare. My skin needs moisture and hydration without the products being too heavy.

When Andalou contacted me to choose from their line I opted for the Coconut milk day and night cream duo. Like all of Andalou’s products these are 🍃100% vegan, cruelty 🐰free, Non GMO certified and gluten free.   Both the day and night creams come in 1.7oz tubes with an airless pump dispenser. Coconut water is the primary ingredient in both creams along with Aqua Cacteen extract for hydration, vitamin c 🍊 and Green Coffee extract for restoring firmness and suppleness to the skin.  First off I love the sweet coconut fragrance in both creams it’s a very mild scent not at all overwhelming which i cannot bear 😷atleast on my face.  The texture of both creams is very satiny and very light on the skin. If you have severly dry skin I would not recommend using these creams atleast not without a serum beforehand.

Overall I am very 💕satisfied with these creams they are light yet hydrating and best of all they are all natural 🌿.

I rate these creams 5/5✨! Have you tried any Andalou products? What was your experience ? Let me know in the comments I would love to hear from you 😘.

🌺Shopaholic’s Product Review : Akin Revitalizing Radiance Serum 🌺

🌺Hello ladies !

It’s time for another product review post!✨ Today I’ll be reviewing an Australian brand “Akin“🍃. As you probably are aware of my addiction to vegan, cruelty free products🐰, it should come as no surprise to you that all the products from this brand are also certified vegan🍃.

I stumbled upon this brand while browsing through Instagram and I’ve been searching for its products here for a while now. If you are in Dubai you can find them at Holland & Barette stores or you can order them directly from the website “Purist“.

The product I chose to try was their Revitalising Cellular Radiance Serum. This is an oil based serum comprising certified organic  oils of Jojoba and RoseHip as well as botanical extracts and vitamins A &E.

The serum comes in a 0.78 oz Amber colored glass bottle with a glass dropper that looks like it came straight from an alchemist’s lab ⚗💕.

Tha packaging itself is very pretty, I swear I’m such a sucker for gorgeous packaging 💟 I actually save the boxes that I find too gorg 💕to throw out 😳.

The serum itself is a gold colored oil, you are supposed to use only 3-4 drops since it is so concentrated. After cleansing I applied 3 drops of the oil onto my face and neck. It absorbed instantly with no greasy or heavy after feel.
My only peeve with the oil would be the funky odour, to me it smelled like the cod fish oil 🐟capsules my father would make me eat as a child in the winters ❄️.The smell however dissipates a little in a bit. The serum itself is very hydrating, I was a bit vary since my skin is oily and combination. However it made my skin very soft sans the oil and shine despite it being severly hot and humid🔆.

I followed it with the Sukin Facial Moisturizer (Review coming soon!). Hours later my skin was still moisturized.

My rating for this moisturizer 4/5 ✨! I can’t wait to try other products from their line 💕. Have you guys tried Akin products? Which one would you recommend?

Shopaholic’s Summer Skin Routine 🔆

img_7470
Hello Loves💖!
With summer just around the corner, I started to put away all my heavy, creamy moisturizers and started stocking up on summer skin essentials 🌞. Where I live summer🔆 equals heat ➕ humidity💧, meaning I need a skin care routine that keeps my skin hydrated and moisturized without being overly greasy.
For me this means switching from a cream based cleanser to one that leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. Moisturizers have to be hydrating but not heavy as that leads to insane breakouts 😳. Sun block is a must in any season but esp in summer because I am out and about a lot and my skin needs protection.
I still use body butters simply because the water is very drying and my skin feels itchy and uncomfortable if I don’t moisturize it post showering.
During summer I opt for light fruity and floral fragrances instead of the usual vanilla and amber ones I favor in the colder months.
So here are some of the products that I incorporate during my summer skin care, hope you check them out 💫
🌞Moogoo milk wash 💧this is a coconut based cleanser that leaves the skin feeling clean without stripping it of moisture. Like all Moogoo produts it is free from sulphates and other harmful chemicals. img_7475
🌞Andalou Pearl Exfoliator, whatever the season, exfoliating is a must for my skin. This product has a light rose🌹 and pomegranate scent and gently exfoliates to get rid of dry, dull skin.img_7477
🌞 Andalou Rose Cream, I love the rose🌹 scent of this and it moisturizes my skin without making it greasy. img_7473🌞 Andalou Turmeric+C Serum, this serum is light and absorbs quickly without feeling heavy. It has a mild scent and works to brighten the skin a plus in summer ➕.img_7471
🌞Moogoo SPF 40, a must any time of the year, this SPF is light and provides sun protection with natural ingredients🍃. Will not leave streaks or break you out guaranteed 💫img_7476
🌞Crab Tree and Evelyn Pear and Magnolia🌸 perfume, I love the scent of magnolia and this perfume is light and fruity perfect for summer.img_7472

There you have it loves🌺! My skin care favs for summer! How does your skin care routine change in the summer? Do let me know 🌷!
Until next time xoxo💋!

Shopaholic’s Product Review : Andalou Naturals 🍃

✨Hello lovely peeps!💞

Today I’ll be doing a product review. As most of you are probably aware of my obsession with skincare by now. It should be no surprise to you that this review also revolves around skincare. It’s very rare for (me at least) to find a product that delivers what it promises without a truck load of toxins in close tow. So you can imagine how pleased I was when I happened to come across the Andalou brand of organic skincare products♻️🔆🌎!

The Andalou Naturals 🍃brand is made in the USA and all their produts are made from 🌻🍃Non-GMO, Cruelty-Free🐾, Gluten-Free, Eco-Friendly🌎, Certified Organic, Fair🔆 Trade, Vegetarian, Vegan, and Clinically Proven Ingredients.( Source : http://www.andalou.com)

Here are some of the products that I tried from their line:🌹

image

🌹Andalou 1000 roses body butter,

image.jpeg

I have recently been dealing with severely dry, itchy, uncomfortable skin, and everything I have tried to date. From coconut oil, Argan oil, lotions, butters ( not Land O lakes 😳). Nothing has provided relief ☹. I was skeptical when I initially tried this but was sold on the rose fragrance 🌹😍. I adore roses, and this butter is delightfully scented ( not the overpowering scent that gives you and everybody around a headache😫😷). It’s a very light fragrance, in addition it’s very creamy not greasy and absorbs into the skin immediately. I found I had to reapply it at the most twice a day as opposed to every hour like I was with all the other produts I was using.

All in all I will definitely be re purchasing this moisturizer. It smells divine, hydrates my skin and is made up of all natural ingredients what’s not to love? 💖

Andalou 1000 roses body wash,🌹

image.jpeg

Like the body butter this too has the same dreamy rose scent 😍. It’s hydrating to the skin as opposed to body washes that smell good but strip the skin of all moisture. Plus  I like layering my fragrances 💐. It’s sulphate free and hydrates with argan, rosehip oil, coconut water and Aloe Vera 💧. Plus your shower will smell just like a rose garden 😍🌹.

Andalou creamy cleanser and radiant skin polish,🍋☀️

image

Lately I’ve been washing my face with my body wash since I had run out of face wash.  And every face wash I used, left my face dry as an old dish rag, post washing and oily and pimple prone hours later. 😡Apparently if you over dry 🍂your skin it compensates by producing more oil to balance it self out .(bye bye clean and clear 👋🏻).

The Andalou cleanser has lemon🍋, Manuka honey 🍯and vitamin c 🍊, it has a creamy lather that washes away impurities. My skin felt clean but not stripped and dry like it did ordinarily.

The radiant skin polish has a texture like creamy sand. It contains chia seeds that buff away dry, flaky skin the result is smoother, softer skin and is that a glow I see? ✨

That’s all for now peeps💞Do try out this brand and let me know how it worked out for you😘

Until next time xoxo💋!

Shopaholic goes organic 🍃

Being an all natural girl, I’ve never really been into makeup too much. Don’t get me wrong I adore Sephora as much as the next gal. But while most of them flock to the makeup aisles I hover over the skincare section. Testing out moisturizers, serums, face oils, lotions, eye creams you name it i have it, have tried , it or I want it.

Over the years however due to hormonal changes my skin has become somewhat sensitive and less tolerant to the typical chemicaly laden, cleverly disguised products. A recent bout of breakouts and excessive dryness led me to actively be on the lookout for more natural alternatives.

As it turned out natural, organic skincare was a dime a dozen. From drugstores to high end boutiques, everywhere I turned organic and all natural products were on display , ready and willing to prove their dedication to Mother Earth . 🌍

Well this was a piece of cake I thought as I skipped home clutching my bulging bags, heck I feel closer to nature already.🍃Look out Pocahontas !

However I did a double take 👀 as I unboxed the first item from my haul and went over the ingredients list. The 💯% Shea butter lip balm contained only 5% Shea butter 😱! The rest of the 95% was a jumble of tiny, 🔎unpronounceable print out of which petrolatum and 8% almond oil was all I could make out.

The rest as they say is a very expensive history 💸💸. Every single product from the face wash to the moisturizers from a wide array of brand names swearing up and down about being organic 🌚. were anything but ❌.

So what’s with all the labeling you ask❓Here’s what’s happening. There are no FDA standards or regulations in place when it comes to labeling cosmetic products as organic. Basically it means that even if one of the gazillion ingredients is organically sourced the entire concoction can be labeled as an organic product. 🚫

So what’s a gal to do⁉️ You need to play detective that’s what🔍. Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security by the word “organic”. Look for products with the USDA organic seal if possible, this will ensure the product contains only organically sourced ingredients.

Check the ingredients list, an organic product should contain between 70- 95% of organically sourced items excluding water and salt. Basically the fewer ingredients a product has the better it is for you.

Now here’s the bad news ; Your chances of finding all natural , certified 💯% organic , cruelty free products in your nearest beauty store are about the same as finding a single, handsome, charming hunk of a guy👤 ready to commit at the word go, when you turn the corner . Basically zero to very slim 😪.

But not to worry ,yours truly has done the work and weeded out the crazies for you. Below are the products i have tried, tested and vouch for as being all natural and effective in what they claim to do.

In no particular order:

Moogoo Anti Aging Face cream with SPF15– with milk protein, olive & raspberry seed oil and zinc oxide for sun protection. This is one of the best moisturizers i have tried hands down. Its non greasy, super moisturizing and wont break you out. Plus its all natural ingredients (i can pronounce and recognize all of them). You can get yours at moogoousa.com priced at $34.90.

anti-ageingspf15facecream75g_cartonandproduct-web
Moogoo Udder Cream and Full Cream– I use them after a shower as an all over body moisturizer, they are super creamy and smell yummy. Personally i prefer the udder cream i feel it has a thicker texture, the full cream i feel is a bit lighter for me probably better in the summer. Available in 100 grams- $11.90 or 270 grams $18.50 at moogoousa.com

Moogoo serums-These have been a lifesaver for me. The super c vitamin serum, the 3 vitamic eye serum and the tamanu oil . I use them all over my face, they absorb instantly , no oily residue , no break outs, just healthy moisturized skin. They have a serum tester pack if you want to sample all of them first. priced at $69 for four full size bottles.Contains the evening primrose oil serum as well. (Haven’t gotten around to trying that but i’m sure ill love it !)

100% pure organic Argan oil by Moroccan Gold-got this from Amazon, super moisturizing , hydrating , pure argan oil. USDA/Eco certified/ Approved fair trade certified. Its a dry oil so once you apply it will absorb into your skin no greasy residue. Has a funky smell but it dissipates within a few seconds. priced at $15.76. (Amazon keeps changing the price but this was the price as of 01/26/2016).

Made from earth-USDA/ECO and cGMP certified products, a bit pricey. I have tried their vitamin C moisturizer, its contains coconut oil and aloe vera and rosehip oil. Another favorite of mine just too pricey to keep buying though was priced at $54.99 now on sale at $38. Get yours at madefromearth.com

vitamin-c-capoff_2

Dustygirls earth cream– i love love love 💞this cream, its a tinted moisturizer avaiable at dustygirls.com.au a sister site of moogoo. They have an entire line of all natural, cosmetics so all you beauty mavens head on over and check them out. The earth cream is my go to moisturizer everyday, it offers between light and medium coverage. It goes on smoothly, no creasing, caking or streaking and is suitable for acne-prone skin.
