Shopaholic gets a fright💀

Hello Loves ❣️

Today I’m going to tell you a story, a freaky story and a true story 😈. So last night I went to bed pretty late ( I’m on vacation don’t judge me 😬).

Before I go to bed I usually keep a bottle of water  💦on my nightstand since my mouth gets very dry in the middle of the night. And since I watch way too many horror movies 🎥 there is no way I’m going out in the middle of the night to become the easy, unsuspecting prey to a psychopath serial killer, a vengeful spirit or restless ghoul.

Getting back to our tale of terror 💀, I woke up around 4 am, groped about in the dark for my water 💦 bottle which I found under the bed empty 😡thanks to the plethora of forever thirsty nieces sleeping over 😴.
Since I couldn’t go back to sleep with a parched throat 🍂and the nieces were sleeping even more deeply than Snow White and Sleeping beauty👑 combined. I braced myself to tackle the impending task alone and after peeping around the door for potential death traps  🌑 tip toed gingerly into the living room.

It’s a mystery to me how my eyes 👀 even with their pathetic vision suddenly start seeing all sorts of unworldly objects and paranormal activity ☠️ in pitch black darkness. Harmless shadows resemble ominous 👻figures, mundane sounds like the clock ticking sound like echoing 👣footsteps you get the idea….

I hurriedly refilled my bottle willing my mind not to rerun through every single horror movie I had watched. As I made my way across the living room I happened to glance at the window and I literally jumped out of my skin. There pressed against the window was the silhouette of a giant cat sitting perfectly still staring off into the distance. This on a night that was the background of a typical Hollywood horror flick complete with a thunderstorm ⚡️and pouring rain outside. ⛈

If that wasn’t enough to petrify me the cat that had been stationary till then decided to swivel its head and stare straight at me. The sight of two fluorescent slits in a pitch black  room was the last straw I stifled a blood curling scream that was about to explode from me (the last time I had screamed at that sight of a stray cat in my supposedly dark and empty bedroom had resulted in dire consequences : brown people read your mom’s chappal 👡).

I willed my legs to move which at the first instance of terror turn into two solid pillars of lead incapable of movement. The cat meanwhile was content to sit on its perch and stare at me with those creepy glowing eyes. I finally dragged myself to my room double bolted the door 🚪 dived under the covers and pulled the blanket over my head  frantically reciting every prayer I could recall.

I want to ask at this point ☝️ why when we are feeling the most terrified do we think that a lifeless piece of fabric aka the blanket or duvet can provide us the ultimate protection against ghosts, 👻ghouls, 💀or knife wielding murderers🔪❓

Plus no matter how hard you try to think 💭 innocent thoughts your mind will determinedly conjure up the things that terrify 💀you the most. Long story short despite the fact that I was sleeping in a room literally littered with nieces sleeping on every available space we could fit a mattress in. I stayed up till sunrise cowering under my blanket, terrified I was going to be attacked by a possesed cat that would apparate into my room and change into a something from a James Wan movie 😱 I think I only dozed off 😴when I saw the sun ☀️ shining through the curtains. 😖

Have you guys ever had one of those nights when you were scared and couldn’t sleep? Let me know in the comments 😘
