Shopaholic 🍃Blogs Reviews: Erin’s Faces Concealer

🍃Let’s talk concealer👁. As you know I am constantly on the search for a clean, long wearing, non creasing concealer and for a while I was very happy with my Han concealer in the shade medium dark. But after a few months the concealer started feeling heavy on my skin and it was also creasing and settling into the fine lines around my eyes. That meant it was time for a new concealer which is easier said than done because if you are like me and your only option is to shop online for clean cosmetics. Then be prepared for a lot of failed attempts and wasted product and money 💸before you end up with the perfect match. Which brings us to today’s product review the @erinsfaces concealer.

🍃The product is made of only clean, green and vegan ingredients 🍃is buildable and covers beautifully and there is minimal creasing plus it’s very long lasting. Given that I have only worn it during cool weather and it’s true test will come in the grueling, sweaty summers of Dubai when everything melts off your face 🌤🔥. But I will update on the summer wearability later on in the year. In terms of color matching the pictures on the website do not accurately represent the shades. I bought the oak shade based off the color card on the website and it turned out to be too light for me. 🍃The oak in my experience is for people who are light medium in complexion. If you are of Pakistani, Indian complexion then your best and true match will be the cedar which looks orange on the website but is actually a medium dark shade. 🍃In the second picture you can see both shades side by side for a better comparison.

🍃You can also view a Video review of the concealer by clicking on the link. ⤴️

🍃In terms of packaging it comes in a glass bottle so totally ♻️. It retails at $25 for 8 ml which is a fair price. My only peeve is that the shipping is $8 😳which I find too much given that sometimes I only want to buy one product from their site and they never have free shipping ☹️Repurchase : 👍🏼 Recommend: 👍🏼

☀️Summer Style Series : Jumpsuit Edition☀️

☀️Sunny days call for cool comfortable dressing like this chambray jumpsuit. Being petite and a little curvy it’s very difficult for me to find a jumpsuit that doesn’t make me look like chubby toddler sans the pigtails 😳. This one from old navy is a near perfect fit ( I had to do some alterations since it was pretty loose).

☀️Other than that it has everything that I want in a jumpsuit including a handy zipper at the back which makes getting in and out a cinch 👍🏼. For those of you who haven’t worn a jumpsuit before that entire thing needs to come off incase you need to go to the bathroom 😳and trust me you don’t want to get stuck in a jumpsuit when you really need to go 🥺take it from someone who has been in that situation 🤫So what’s your take on jumpsuits?

☀️Summer Style Series: Friday Edition☀️

☀️And it’s finally Friday! 🥳Normally during summer vacations the entire week is one big weekend. But somehow no other day but Friday actually feels like the weekend. Back to the photo: if you think I’m displaying signs of sleepiness you are actually right.

☀️This is a pre breakfast 🍳🍞most importantly pre ☕️coffee/chai picture. And regardless of how many showers🚿 I take or how much makeup I put on or how slick my hair is if I haven’t had my breakfast I will continue to look like I’ve just rolled out of bed🛏😴.

☀️On a different note I decided to try the color pink on for a change. Pink is also one of those colors I would normally avoid wearing mostly because I felt the color didn’t suit me 😳. Back to the outfit I’m wearing a hand block printed( a fabric printing technique from India that requires artisans to carve blocks of wood into intricate patterns then dip those blocks into vegetable dyes and transfer the print onto fabric in this case pure cotton). The pants are flowy, cotton palazzos which are perfect for this weather and I’m wearing my favorite style of flats the jutti/khussa in white with gold and silver hand embroidery 🥰. Cost of each piece between $25-$30 bringing the total again to under $100 for the entire look.

☀️A little BTS 🎬info: the heat was actually quiet bearable which was probably due to the fact it was only 10 am at the time and the sun wasn’t in its full blistering 🔥glory till then. So before that happens I’m off to enjoy the day and all of you have a happy friday😘

☀️Summer Style Series Part 2☀️

☀️Hey Fellow Bloggers!

☀️Hope you are having a fabulous summer. Today I bring you part 2 of my summer style series.

☀️I love mixing up pieces from my wardrobe. It instantly gives a new look to a previously worn piece and is a great way to put your own spin on a look.

☀️This particular dress is my favorite because it combines my two favorite style the desi angharka with a full length maxi and it’s pure hand made cotton so it’s not only super figure flattering it’s perfect for the scorching summers 🥵at hand.

☀️To add some western flare to this otherwise eastern look I slipped on my sleeveless denim jacket which adds all the style without the bulk. You can pair this look with sneakers for casual comfort on the go or slip on sandals or go total desi with khussas(juttis). So here is the total look as promised in the previous post. How are you styling your summers☀️?

☕️Chai For One Please☕️

☕️Chai has become one of my favorite drinks ever since I became a proper adult has been a properly brewed cup of chai also known as karak and how my family calls it doodh patti ( tea leaves brewed in full cream milk 😋).

☕️Away from home there are very few places that do chai correctly either it’s too bitter😖, too 💧watery, too overdone with spices till it tastes like a herbal🍃 cough infusion 😳or just plain bland. Cupaghawa is one of those very few places that manages to get it right every time and if you pair it with one of their amazing milk cakes the result is deliciousness 🤪.

☕️So here is to chai fans everywhere hope your next ☕️cup is just as delicious 😋p.s (this is not a sponsored post I genuinely enjoy the chai and the desserts here 😋).

☕️P.P.S How do you guys like your chai? Share some of your favorite chai recipes (yes there is such a thing 😉) with me 😘

☀️Summer Style Series☀️

Hey Fellow Bloggers,

☀️Summer is in full swing and what better time then now to start a style series to give you guys some style inspiration that won’t break the bank and is effortless and weather appropriate.

☀️I love following style blogs but usually the looks they feature are so expensive or require so many buying new pieces each time to recreate the look that I frankly with my limited budget can simply not achieve.

☀️I also tend to remix pieces a lot😋 since it extends the usability of my wardrobe. Plus I don’t follow fashion trends since they tend to go out of style very quickly and you are left with outfits that aren’t trendy anymore. That not only is a waste of your money it also means you are contributing to the worlds🌍 ever growing landfills.

☀️To avoid that I buy pieces that I can mix and match to create different outfit combinations. Also I have recently started to buy handmade, pure cotton clothing. Not only is it breathable in this heat, purchasing from small businesses helps support local craftspeople.

☀️Today’s outfit inspiration comprises of pieces that I have had for several years : my ivory sleeveless top from Loft Petites. I bought this top 4 years ago and I have worn it countless times because it is such a neutral color that works with prints and solids beautifully.

☀️My flowy pants are from American Eagle and I got them on clearance 🥳. These type of pants are perfect for summer they are not clingy and are made of soft, comfortable viscose (not a pure fabric I know but it’s insanely comfortable).

☀️My shoes are from TrunkLane. These are hand made pure leather flats that feature intricate silver embroidery that blings out any outfit and are super comfortable as well. All the pieces cost less than $30 each. So this entire look is under $100 making it super affordable.

☀️Hope you guys enjoyed this first installment of the summer style series. Let me know your style ideas I would love to hear them😘

ShopaholicBlogs: Hair Diaries✂️

⚜️Every six months give or take I color & cut my hair. It’s a monumental task both financially ( with my length and thickness the bill is usually $$$💸) & in terms of ⏰time invested both in searching for the best colorist and hair dresser ( with the exception of two ladies with whom I could rest assured that my hair was in safe & capable hands🙌🏻 my hair coloring & cutting experience has been a hit and miss for the most part 😒) & the time spent on the actual coloring and styling process ( 3-4 hours, on occasion I have even endured 6 hours in the stylist’s chair 😳)

⚜️Apparently finding a good colorist and hair dresser in one is a nearly impossible task. You can either have one or the other🙄. I have experienced hair disasters ranging from my hair being longer on one side shorter on the other, walking out with a giant raccoon 🦝like white streak in my hair ( too much bleach that one time 😫) having my bangs cut so short I looked like a toddler with an at home hair cut gone predictably wrong and having my dark hair turned almost old lady mousy 🐀brown.

⚜️Over the last two years however I have been lucky enough to find the right colorist/stylist who understands my hair color to complexion balance ( I don’t want to go blonde or ash or any where close to that color family pleaseeee🙏🏼) and who doesn’t insist on painting ruler straight, obvious as hell highlights in my hair.

⚜️I am not much for experimenting when it comes to hair color and usually all I request is to go a little lighter and have color that adds dimension without being in your face noticeable.

⚜️So today I had something similar in mind when I headed down to @mindandsensespa for my appointment. And as usual they did not disappoint🥰. Despite my stylist being an hour late she had me done in 3 hours color and cut done as per my request. ( I highly recommend having picture to show your stylist it minimizes confusion). So here is the before and after of my hair transformation 🤩🥰.

⚜️Well I’m thrilled 🤩to be honest. Let me know what you guys think and share your hair transformation ✂️stories with me 🥰
